Ilmatar achieves 1GW milestone in solar energy permit applications in Sweden
Following a thorough consultation process, Nordic energy company Ilmatar announces the submission of an environmental permit application for the Tönnersjö solar farm, spanning 450 hectares in the County of Halland, southwestern Sweden. – Solar power stands out as the fastest-growing energy production method. Ilmatar has now passed a one-gigawatt milestone in solar energy permit applications for Sweden – a significant addition to electricity production that can be built quickly, states Robert Wedmo, Ilmatar’s Head of Permitting.

The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) programme for Ilmatar’s largest offshore wind project, Bothnia, has been launched and the project proceeds to consultation phase. The EIA work is carried out in cooperation with Ramboll Finland.

Ilmatar Takes a Significant Step Forward with Sweden’s Largest Solar Park
After 1.5 years of investigations, the application for Sweden’s currently largest planned solar cell park has been completed and submitted for environmental review to the County Administrative Board in Östergötland. At Ilmatar’s 550-hectare project area in Olivehult, solar energy production is planned to coexist with sheep grazing in collaboration with the farm Wästanå Gård.

Wind turbines operate at full power in Ilmatar’s first hybrid park – solar farm and energy storage solution next
All the 36 wind turbines in Ilmatar’s first hybrid park in Alajärvi have been commissioned for commercial production. The wind turbines are a part of the unique 370-megawatt hybrid complex where Ilmatar is also planning to build a significant scale solar farm and energy storage solution.
