Ilmatar plans to construct and operate a solar park in Hässleholm Municipality, just outside the town of Bjärnum.
Aggarp
Hässleholm – Sweden
The planned facility will include ground-mounted solar panels, inverters, step-up transformers, switching stations, substations, energy storage facilities, power lines, communication networks, roads, and service buildings. Ilmatar is simultaneously applying for a building permit for the energy storage facility, as it requires planning permission. The various components of the solar park are essential to convert the direct current generated by the solar panels into alternating current and subsequently transfer the energy to the regional electricity grid.
The solar park will enable the production of renewable energy in southern Sweden, contributing to the green transition and leading to a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
The park will largely occupy the Myreholms mosse peatland. As part of the solar park’s operations, measures will be implemented to improve the natural environment by managing the peatland to prevent it from becoming overgrown—a problem currently affecting the area. Vegetation maintenance will be carried out regularly within and around the solar park.
Consultations with the Skåne County Administrative Board, stakeholders, and the general public regarding the solar park were conducted in 2024.
