In addition to eight wind turbines, solar power and energy storage areas are also considered as part of the project. The nominal capacity of eight wind turbines is around 60 MW and the solar areas cover max. 250 hectares. The efficient use of the project area will provide significant benefits, especially from the perspective of electricity transmission and minimizing environmental impacts. The wind – and solar radiation conditions in Perho Honkahuhta are excellent for the efficient production of renewable energy.
The EIA report for Honkahuhta project will be publicly available 13.3.-9.5.2025.

The land use plan draft will be available for public viewing after the board’s consideration in April-May. As the finalization of all necessary permitting processes is expected during 2025 and 2026 it is possible to start construction in 2027 and reach commercial production in 2029.
“We want to encourage residents, landowners and stakeholders to actively participate in the project’s permitting process. The best projects are created in open collaboration, and it is important for us to hear the views and wishes of local people. We believe that together we can develop a project that benefits both the area and its residents!”
