We are now looking for a Trading Analyst to join our team in Helsinki. Will you be our new colleague?

As our new Trading Analyst, your main responsibility will be to analyze, forecast, and communicate short-term development in the power market. You will take ownership of and maintain our electricity market models, working in close collaboration with our Physical Trading team while updating and communicating price forecasts.

Trading team plays a central role at Ilmatar. Over the past few years, we’ve been growing the team on our journey to becoming an IPP. Today, we have a well-established trading team made up of top-tier experts. 

Main responsibilities

  • Ownership of our electricity market models, including day-ahead analysis and model development
  • Delivering daily forecast updates
  • Continuous dialogue with power traders supporting their decision-making in production optimization

Depending on your experience and interest:

  • Contribute to long term analysis
  • Possibility to provide support in hedging and trading activities

What we expect from you

  • Relevant educational background (e.g. a master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics)
  • Relevant work experience from electricity markets, data analysis or mathematical modelling
  • Experience in data analysis, as Python will be your main tool
  • Fluency in English, preferably fluency in Finnish
  • Proactive communication skills and a strong team player mindset
