The VAT rate for electricity will be temporarily reduced from 24% to 10%.The reduced rate shall apply from 1 December 2022 to 30 April 2023. The change will become effective on 1 December 2022, and it is based on the temporary amendment to the Finnish VAT Act. The VAT rate will be 24% as of 1 May 2023.No customer action is required regarding this temporary change in the VAT rate.This notice only applies to the temporary change in the VAT rate specified hereinabove.Contracts valid under further notice can be terminated with a 14-day termination period.

Photos: Alajärvi wind farm was opened with local and international flair
Ilmatar marked the inauguration of the Alajärvi wind farm alongside its extensive network of partners, stakeholders and land owners on 16 May, basking in the sunshine as guests gathered. The warm spring day was tempered by a gentle breeze, propelling the wind farm’s 36 turbines into action. Speeches by Ilmatar’s CEO, Juha-Pekka Weckström, Kansai Electric Power’s Senior Executive Vice President Mikio Matsumura, Alajärvi Mayor, Vesa Koivunen, and Ilmatar’s Director of Construction, Petri Ainonen, were complemented by performances of traditional Finnish music from bygone decades, courtesy of the local Sipsetti troupe.

The company’s new headquarters can be found in one of the most recognizable landmark buildings in the city, the “Sugar Cube,” a building designed by Alvar Aalto, located in Katajanokka at the address Kanavaranta 1, 00160 Helsinki. Ilmatar occupies the fourth and fifth floors of the building.
