Ilmatar is developing a solar park of approximately 90 MWp in Ypäjä Hyrsynkulma, Kanta-Häme.
Ypäjä Hyrsynkulma
Ypäjä – Finland
The project area is almost entirely arable land, which is excellently suited for solar power use due to its evenness and good buildability. The electricity produced by the solar park is intended to be transferred to the electricity grid via the Fingrid’s power line running through the project area, so that the connection point will be in connection with the solar park. Therefore, there is no need to build new long electricity transmission lines for the project.
The project has legally binding building permits and is currently undergoing further permitting and more detailed technical planning. As the construction of the solar power plant is estimated to be scheduled for 2026-2027, electricity production could begin in 2027 at the earliest.
“It was wonderful how quickly and naturally this project got started. We found an area internally that was ideally suited for solar power, and to our delight, the landowners and the municipality also became enthusiastic about the project quickly. This shows that there is a genuine interest in renewable energy in the area and a desire to promote sustainable development.”
