To be operational
A solar park of approximately 591 hectares is planned in Sollefteå municipality on the property Edsele-Ås 5:4, Västernorrland County. The area in question consists mainly of productive forest land and is currently used for conventional forestry. To establish the solar park, the company has signed a lease agreement with the property owner. The planned operation involves the construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning of a ground-based solar energy facility with approximately 550 MW of installed capacity using today’s technology.

Solkatterna keeps Karlstad thriving
We aim to be an active part of the local society in the areas where we operate, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement. One of the organizations we sponsor is Solkatterna Speedway, in Karlstad in southern Sweden, close to our two projects in Värmland, Lång and Grums. Solkatterna is a club founded in 1966 where volunteer work plays a significant role. – Without our sponsors, there wouldn’t be any speedway in Karlstad, says Christian Nordin, the club’s vice chairman.

Ilmatar sparks attention at the Swedish parliament
“Grid connections are the most important factor for us to secure right now as a developer of renewable energy production. If we are referred to the regional electricity grids in Sweden, our projects will have to be scaled back. As a country, we cannot afford to do that when we know that all forms of renewable energy are needed,” says Ilmatar’s Robert Wedmo, who held a lunch seminar in the Swedish Parliament in mid-November.
