Ilmatar is planning to build a solar park in Joroinen, Northern Savonia. The Vuotsinsuo solar park area is located approximately 10 kilometres southeast of the Joroinen town centre. The entire project area is former peat production land.

The Vuotsinsuo solar parkt is planned to be built on an area of approximately 100 hectares and is designed to have a nominal capacity of around 90 MWp. The electricity will be transmitted via underground cabling and connected through a line-side connection to Fingrid Oy’s Huutokoski–Savonlinna 110 kV power line.
The permitting process for the project has been completed, and the project has received legally valid building permits. The project is currently being prepared for construction, which could begin during 2027. Production is expected to start in 2029.
