The Kettukangas project includes up to 29 turbines in Northern Ostrobothnia, with 23 located in the municipality of Merijärvi and 6 in the municipality of Oulainen. Grid connection points are being considered either at Jylkkä (16 km, 400 kV) or Valkeus (23 km, 110 kV). Note that the figures on this page only pertain to the Oulainen portion of the project; information regarding Merijärvi can be found under “Kettukangas”.

Ilmatar sparks attention at the Swedish parliament
“Grid connections are the most important factor for us to secure right now as a developer of renewable energy production. If we are referred to the regional electricity grids in Sweden, our projects will have to be scaled back. As a country, we cannot afford to do that when we know that all forms of renewable energy are needed,” says Ilmatar’s Robert Wedmo, who held a lunch seminar in the Swedish Parliament in mid-November.
