Background
Möksy
Alajärvi – FinlandThe Möksy and Louhukangas wind power areas are located in the eastern part of Alajärvi city in South Ostrobothnia. The area generates renewable electricity with 78 MW nominal capacity from 36 wind turbines from which 13 are located in Möksy area.
The wind power areas have mainly been used for forestry and peat production, and they are located far from residential areas. Excellent wind conditions, distance from residential areas, and the possibility of integrating wind power production with other land uses in the area make the Möksy and Louhukangas areas ideal locations for wind power production.
Commercial production started at the end of 2023.
