A solar park of approximately 707 hectares, divided into six sub-areas, is planned within the properties Ökna 1:15, Ökna 1:3, and Röfors 2:5 in Arboga municipality, Västmanland County. The road associations Ökna S:2 and Torpstång S:1 run through the planned operational area. These will be preserved and not built upon with solar panels.
With current technology, the planned facility has an installed capacity of approximately 709 MW, with an annual energy production of about 740 GWh. This corresponds to the electricity consumption of around 37,000 houses with an average annual consumption of 20,000 kWh/year. Battery storage will also be built adjacent to the solar park to provide balancing capacity.
The area in question is currently mainly used for conventional forestry, with smaller parts consisting of arable land. To establish the solar park, Ilmatar has signed a lease agreement with the property owner.

Solkatterna keeps Karlstad thriving
