Ilmatar is planning a wind farm of about 135 MW in Kristiinankaupunki in Ostrobothnia.
Västervik 2
Kristiinankaupunki – Finland
The planning area for Västervik 2 is located in the southern part of Kristiinankaupunki, to the west and north of the Västervik wind farm, which is built and in operation. The area expansion makes use of existing infrastructure and electricity transmission already established on site.
A maximum of 18 turbines with a maximum sweep height of 350 metres are planned for the site.
The Västervik 2 EIA programme and the participation and assessment plan (OAS) were available for public viewing in autumn 2024. At present, nature and environmental surveys are being carried out in the project area, and the potential impacts of the project are being assessed. The project is being developed with respect for natural values and with the aim of minimising environmental impacts. A wind measurement campaign is also ongoing at the Västervik 2 site.
The goal is to publish the EIA report and zoning draft at the turn of the year 2025–2026.
