Ilmatar is planning a wind farm of about 135 MW in Kristiinankaupunki in Ostrobothnia.

The planning area for Västervik 2 is located in the southern part of Kristiinankaupunki, to the west and north of the Västervik wind farm, which is currently under construction.

A maximum of 18 turbines with a maximum sweep height of 350 metres are planned for the site.

The Västervik 2 EIA program and participation and assessment scheme were available for public viewing in the fall of 2024. Currently, studies are being conducted in the project area, and the environmental impacts of the project are being assessed. The project is being developed with consideration for natural values and with the aim of minimizing environmental impacts. A wind measurement campaign is also underway in Västervik 2. The goal is to publish the EIA report and zoning draft in the summer of 2025.
